Join Bob Tincher, OWOW co-chair of the Water Resource Optimization Pillar workgroup, and Manager of Engineering and Planning for the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District, as he briefly talks about the Water Resources Optimization Pillar Chapter in the newly drafted One Water, One Watershed 2.0 Plan.

Water Resources Optimization Pillar – Through the 20-year planning horizon of 2035, the watershed will be able to meet its demands in a single-year drought, and for a multi-year drought. The keys are storing water, both local and imported, in “wet” years for use in dry years; reducing demands 20% by 2020 and continuing to invest in infrastructure. However, to account for climate change impacts and other uncertainties, a 10% “reliability factor” was included, ensuring that supplies exceed demands by a minimum of 10%.
